Lillooet Stage Ride

Description: Vehicle-Support Weekend Road Ride Whistler-Lillooet, with dinner at the Fort Berens Winery.
Join some Whistler Cycling Club members and friends for two day outing. Have a vehicle carry your food and overnight gear, so you can ride your bike with minimum weight onboard.
Itinerary (approximate). If choosing optional start and finish points, please arrange your related transportation.
Saturday Aug 29
7:40 am meet in Emerald Estates to load overnight bag into support vehicle and prepare to ride
8:00 am start riding
8:50 am regroup briefly at Pemberton Visitor Centre [note: optional ride start]
9:25 am (approx) - group ride to rest stop near bottom of Duffey climb to shed excess layers
11:15 am (approx) - rest stop at Duffey summit, just above Joffre Lake parking lot [note: optional ride start]
12:30 pm (approx) - regroup at convenient pull off
1:30 pm (approx) - rest stop before or during last climb
2:00-2:30 pm (approx) - arrive in Lillooet
post ride vittles (supplied by Fort Berens Winery if we have enough participants, otherwise at local restaurant)
hotel check-ins
6 pm - dinner at Fort Berens Winery (can be arranged if we have enough participants, otherwise, dinner at restaurants or self-arranged (hotel rooms have microwaves).
Sunday Aug 30
hotel checkouts and breakfast
7:45 am gather after breakfast, load vehicle
8:00 am start riding
plan rest stops approx every 30 kms or 1 hour riding
regroup at Duffey summit, just above Joffre Lake parking lot [note: optional ride finish]
regroup at bottom of Duffey descent
group ride to Pemberton
regroup in Pemberton (location TBD, Visitor Centre or a nearby coffee shop) [note: optional ride finish]
group ride back to Whistler
2:00-2:30 pm arrive in Whistler
post ride debrief and refreshments
Vehicle will have some spare tubes and tires, air pump, etc. Water and ice. Coolers for food. Space for overnight bags and some communal food. Minimal space for riders to hop on board, but can carry one or possibly two people in a pinch.
Cost recovery for vehicle, gas, and minor consumables. Depending on the number of participants, likely between $20 and $35. Other cost items: hotel accoms, meals, refreshments, approx budget $150 per person assuming shared room (equipped with two queen beds).
